Ms Johnston, Cynthia Ann

It is with much sadness that we, Cynthia’s family and friends, announce her peaceful passing at the Rivulet, Hobart on Thursday 25th January.
Cynthia was the wife of the late Peter Townley and much- loved friend and stepmother of Cynthia, Helen and Nicola Townley.
Cynthia was also the loved and loving cousin of Dee (Potter), Rose (Clark), Philip (Crowden), Felicity (Best) and their families.
Cynthia’s outstanding operatic career and work with young artists was recognized with an Order of Australia in 1992, and she delighted many over the years with her performances.
We sincerely thank each and every one of the wonderful medical team who cared for Cynthia – the staff at the Gibson Ward at Calvary St Johns, the caring staff at The Rivulet and Dr Hodgman and Dr Byard.

Cynthia will be very much missed by her family and friends and those who were fortunate to cross her path and privileged to get to know her.
